God of second chances
"When we learn from experience, the scars of sin can lead us to restoration and a renewed intimacy with God."
Failure and falls in God's people are not news. The history of the Bible is full of incidents that perplex even the casual reader.
From Adam and Eve, Abraham (the father of faith), Moses (the great deliverer), Samson, Jonas the people of Israel, the disciples, and even the only man who is said, apart from Christ, that he was according to the heart of God (David).
Scripture records your sins, falls, lusts, weaknesses, disjunctions, virtues, feats, and victories
……. However, what David had done displeased the Lord.
- 2. Samuel 11:27, NIV
All of them and many more were disobedient, they sinned voluntarily and on many occasions they assisted the enemy after having promised to be faithful to God. In both Testaments, the evidence of failure, weakness, and disobedience is staggering and alarming.
If something characterizes God and makes him different from his creation, it is the ability to restore those who are eternally his.
Galatians 6: 1
Restoration is more than healing or going through a counseling process to close unfortunate chapters in your life.
Restoring or restoration is an attitude, a determination; is to refuse to leave a sibling in the clutches of hell.
To restore is to restore someone's identity and trust.
The use of the word "restore" in Scripture carries the meaning of fixing, putting in order, equipping, adjusting, preparing, strengthening, perfecting, making someone what he should be, perfecting the soul, training, discipline, instruction.
According to these definitions, the restoration of a person who has been caught in sin is to return him to spiritual integrity.
The restoration process is intended to make the latter condition better than the former.
Jeremiah 33: 7-9
Strange as it may seem, the Lord delights to communicate the fact that his even after terrible sins will be and will be better after they are restored. This does not mean that sin is without consequences. What it does mean is that the Lord is determined to have a people that despite our weaknesses, we are to the praise
of his name and a visible trophy of his love and grace.
Haggai 2: 9
God never gets glory when one of his children is stranded and is only remembered for the fall and painful memories. Many men that the Bible records that sinned among those names are people that God used mightily. God refused to be embarrassed by human failure. He uses our weakness as an opportunity to reveal his glory.
But He knows my way, He will test me and I will come out as gold.
Job 23:10
Don't die in the desert; Cross it.
In many homes money is not the problem, it is love, many believe that money is the cause of infidelity, there are many causes that can lead us to infidelity, the important thing is that God is always ready to give us a chance.
It is proven that one of the major causes is not that you stop loving your spouse, it is a matter that carries a mixture of incorrect attitudes nothing else.
Psalm 41: 9
How can I prevent having an experience like this?
1. Continually affirm your relationship with your spouse. Be accountable, improve your communication, listen, and don't lie.
2. Cultivate the intimacy of your marriage. Strive to be creative and dynamic.
3. Be frank, don't use lies as the best option, in the end the truth always prevails.
4. Love the truth, obey the truth, live the truth.
