1. Thessalonians 2: 2-4, 2. Timothy 1:10
God exercised Resurrection through the prophets, Jesus exercised Resurrection by his power, and he E.S. He exercised Resurrection through the apostles in the expansion of the church. Today the word exercises Resurrection.
And not the physical resurrection as we know but spiritual resurrection for eternal life.
In the A.T. there are three resurrections:
1.1. Kings 17: 17-23 the son of the widow of sarepta
2.2. Kings 4: 31-37 the son of the Shunammite and
3.2. Kings 13: 20-21 a corpse that was thrown into the tomb where Elisha's bones were.
Why did Elisha's bones cause Resurrection? Because there slept a prophet who determined his life to God. (In 1 Kings 19: 20-21 Elisha was determined to serve Jehovah God.)
What was the intention of the resurrections? It was to announce Christ from the A.T.
Sin yesterday, today and tomorrow will always produce spiritual and physical death,
Even though we were dead in sins, he gave us life together with Christ (by grace you are saved), Ephesians 2: 5
Before you were Christians, you were dead to God because of your crimes and sins. Ephesians 2: 1 NBV.
The Resurrection that is needed today is not that of the body but that of the spirit, that is why these manifestations are not seen as before.
Neither faith nor obedience excludes us from death.
The Resurrection of the spirit represents the ¨ announcement ¨ of a different Resurrection that is for eternal life. In the Bible there are many resurrections but all of them died again physically, the Resurrection that Jesus gives us through his word is for eternal life.
Truly, truly, I say to you: He who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life; and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life. John 5:24
8. And if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9. knowing that Christ, having risen from the dead, no longer dies; death no longer lords over him.
10. For as to what died, to sin he died once for all; but as for what lives, lives for God. Romans 6: 8-10
The body that is occupied or possessed by sin is enslaved and subjected to death, therefore it is the word that produces life and Resurrection.
¨ So faith comes from hearing; and he will hear, through the word of God. ”Romans 10:17
