For the Greeks Sin is derived from the word ¨ Hamartia ¨, failure of the goal.
¨ Missing the target ¨
The term hamartia, was used by the Greek philosopher Aristoteles as a poetic term that translates as ¨ Fatal Error ¨ and ¨ tragic error ¨
In Hebrew the common word for "Sin" is "Jatta" which means "to err" in the sense of not reaching the goal.
Judges 20:16
16 Of all those people there were seven hundred chosen men, who were left-handed, all of whom would sling a stone at a hair, and not miss.
This verse written literally would say: ¨ They did not sin ¨ because they did not err.
Proverbs 8: 35-36
35. For whoever finds me finds life,
And you will find favor with Jehovah.
36. But he that sins against me deceives his soul;
All who hate me love death.
He who sins hates God and loves death more than eternal life.
He who does not attain wisdom despises his soul.
Sin in man is by nature an Adamic inheritance. This nature affects your actions as your emotions and thoughts, only through the blood of Christ are we redeemed and expiated through Regeneration through the new birth.
John 3: 3-6 he who sins is not truly born again, being a Christian does not tell you that you will not sin.
Sin, however slight it may be, is sin, the essential nature of sin is rebellion against God, it is where the human will is opposed to the divine will
Is it possible not to sin?

In the N.T. 270 times the word hamartia (sin) is used
The greatest sin is refusing to believe in the son of God, when we do not believe in Jesus we are missing the mark in our way of living.
Sin affects those who practice it and those around them, it produces collateral effects.
And it produces enmity against God, not from God to us, but us to God.
James 4: 4
4 O adulterous souls! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity against God? Anyone, then, who wants to be a friend of the world, constitutes himself an enemy of God.
Missing the target sinning makes us have God as enemies because of our disorderly way of living.
Hebrews 3: 12-13
12 See, brethren, that there be no evil heart of unbelief in any of you to turn away from the living God;
13 but exhort each other every day, while it is said: Today; so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Today is a day where you can examine yourself and recognize that every act of sin continues to make you a transgressor of God's law and that you are someone the enemy is destroying as long as you continue in that life without purpose and without direction.
