Key Words: weakness, look back, step back, Carry the Cross
Introduction: Joel Chapter 2 ends with a great prophetic word the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit, but chapter 3: 1-15 speaks of Judgment of
Jehovah over the nations. In verses 9-15 he makes a Convocation.
Why is this word in this book? Because at that time the nations
they were oppressing Israel, they did many injustices to the people of God. But
God manifested himself in favor of his people.
How do we act when something oppresses us?
How does a Christian act for the loss of a loved one? How we react to
a medical opinion? How do we act in a financial crisis? How
do we react to a family member disappointment, or to a dismissal?
Some abandon their faith in Christ, because If there is a truth in the heart of the
man is that he does not want to die or for anyone to die, but when that
it happens and it hits us we act like a skinny, coward. We forget what
says the word and we abandon Christ.
And the way it is set for men to die only once, and
after this the judgment, Hebrews 9:27
He who knows the word has reached Maturity and comes to understand everything that
touch face in life; he is strong because of the promises given to his life. And not
never back down
37 Because even a little bit,
And he who is to come will come and will not delay. (Habacub2: 4-5)
38. But the just shall live by faith;
And if it recoils, it will not please my soul.
39 But we are not of those who retreat to perdition, but of those who
they have faith for the preservation of the soul. Hebrews 10: 37-39
Faith is the best treasure that the Christian has and when losing it due to some circumstance
lost everything.
Promises keep us going. Matthew 16:24
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, `` If anyone wants to come after me,
Deny yourself, and take up your cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24
The disciples knew that criminals carried their cross at the time of their death, and
Jesus makes them the illustration of carrying the cross as a sign of death, just like he
he was soon to die. Just as Jesus remained faithful to his mission given by him
Father, so He asks us to carry the cross, to suffer even though we are
innocent by our faith in Him.
You and I are condemned to death, but with the hope of eternal life. Y
to carry our cross is to face as Christ faced the same contradiction
of sinners.
3 Consider him who suffered such a contradiction of sinners against himself,
so that your spirit does not tire until you faint. Hebrews 12: 3
Let's go to the end as Christ came and not be like Lot's wife who
He looked back.
17 And when they had led them out, they said, Escape for your life; don't look behind
you, do not stop in all this plain; escape to the mountain, lest you perish.
26 Then Lot's wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Genesis 19:17, 26
Those who are strong by promise escape for their lives, because they look to
forward with a hope and faith in the one who has promised, looking back is
synonymous with weakness, cowardice, is not wanting to leave the past, there are things that
they are not ours, ours is a new earth and a new sky, do not look towards
behind.
62 And Jesus said to him: No one who puts his hand on the plow looks back, is
fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
Suitable: what has the attitude to develop something.
He who looks back has not put his trust in the promises of God to his
life, has not been strengthened in the time of trial or weakness.
2 Corinthians 12: 9
9 And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for you; because my power is perfected in the
weakness. Therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, to
May the power of Christ rest on me.
How glorious that His power rests over our lives. The enemy tells you
unworthy, the Lord tells you: come on get up there is a way to go.
